Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

This policy explains how Tri-Africa Connect, a trading name of Triton Networking Technology (Pty) Ltd (“we”, “us”), registration number BW00000187934, Gaborone, Botswana, collects and uses personal information through triton.africa and when you contact us. We process personal information in line with Botswana’s Data Protection Act, 2024 and, for clients and visitors in South Africa, the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

1. Information we collect

  • When you contact us: your name, company or organisation, email address, phone number, country, the type of enquiry and project, your message, and how you prefer to be contacted. The same applies when you email, call or WhatsApp us. Messages sent through our contact form are emailed to our team and stored securely in our website system.
  • When you visit the website: basic technical information such as the pages you view, your browser and device type, and your IP address. This is recorded by our web hosting provider’s server logs, our security software (Wordfence), Google Analytics, which counts visits and shows which pages are useful, and Google Search Console, which shows us how people find the site in Google search.

2. How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry, prepare quotes, arrange site surveys and deliver our services.
  • To keep in touch about a project you have asked us about. We only send marketing messages if you have agreed, and you can opt out at any time.
  • To understand how the website is used so we can improve it.
  • To protect the website against spam, attacks and misuse, and to meet our legal obligations.

3. Who we share it with

We never sell personal information. We use trusted service providers to run the website and our business, including our web hosting provider, Automattic (Akismet spam filtering, which checks contact form submissions), Wordfence (website security) and Google (Search Console, email). Some of these providers process data outside Botswana and South Africa; where they do, we only transfer it as the law allows (Part XIV of Botswana’s Data Protection Act), for example under the provider’s contractual data protection terms or where the transfer is needed to provide the service you asked for. We may also share information where the law requires it.

4. Cookies

The website uses a small number of cookies needed for it to work securely, and Google Analytics cookies (_ga) to count visits. We do not use advertising cookies. You can block Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out browser add-on. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, although some features may be affected.

5. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and any resulting project, and for up to 24 months afterwards, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Invoices, contracts and accounting records are kept for 8 years, as Botswana tax law requires. Website statistics and security logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted.

6. Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to how we use it. Email info@triton.africa and we will respond within one month. You can also ask us to restrict how we use your data or to give you a copy in a portable format, and you can withdraw consent or object to marketing at any time, free of charge. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing. You also have the right to complain to Botswana’s Information and Data Protection Commission or, in South Africa, the Information Regulator.

7. Security

We protect information with access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS), security monitoring and secure hosting. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe and will act promptly if a problem occurs. If a breach is likely to put your rights at risk, we notify the Information and Data Protection Commission, where feasible within 72 hours, and tell you directly if the risk to you is high.
